August is the month to celebrate peaches! Celebrate all month long with peach pie, peach cobbler, peach smoothies, frozen peach yogurt or another sweet concoction made from this delicious fruit. No matter what peach pastry you’re making, make sure you’re using biodegradable plates, silverware, cups and other Earth friendly products! Here are some peach filled recipes to help you enjoy and celebrate throughout the month.

Peach Cobbler
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups peaches
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
Directions:
  1. Line the bottom of a pan with 4 cups peaches.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tbsp. lemon juice over the peaches.
  3. Sift 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and ½ tsp. salt.
  4. Beat the egg a little and add it to the dry, sifted ingredients. Using a fork, stir the ingredients until the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Scatter the crumbly mixture over the peaches and then drizzle 6 tbsp. melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees.

Peach Smoothie
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sliced peaches
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Ice cubes
Directions:
  1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender, cover and process until mixture is smooth.
  2. Pour into chilled glasses and enjoy!
