We touched on it a bit last week, but now that the New Year is off and running… Let’s look at more Green New Year’s Resolutions! Here are 10 more green New Years resolution ideas.

  1. Buy a supply of reusable shopping bags, and say no to plastic bags next time you go to the store.
  2. We understand that disposable plates made of Styrofoam, paper and plastic are easy to use and that there’s less clean up involved after meals. Biodegradable Chinet products can also provide you with a quick clean up after meals, but these eco-friendly plates are less dangerous for our environment.
  3. Save gas and money by buying your groceries in bulk.
  4. Many companies have a paper-free option. By opting to receive your bills via email, you’re saving paper and a tree!
  5. Turn off the lights whenever you leave a room.
  6. Save water when you use the dishwasher by skipping the pre-wash cycle. Instead, scrap off large food particles before placing dishes in the dishwasher. In addition, you can use phosphate-free Cascade Action Packs. Phosphate is a chemical that can contaminate and damage water quality.
  7. Bundle up during chilly winter months, and turn the thermostat down a few degrees.
  8. Only washing your clothes when you have a full load of laundry will save water, energy and money.
  9. Cut your shower time by five minutes and you could save up to 25 gallons of water!
  10. Stop buying bottled water. Instead, purchase a water filter and a reusable water bottle.

Make an impact this year with a New Years resolution that will save money, energy and our environment!
